Kevin Dunn founded Dunn Rush & Co. in 2009. Previously he served as Vice Chairman of the U.S. division of Canaccord Adams, Inc., an international investment banking firm. He also served as the division’s President and CEO overseeing its establishment and expansion. Prior to Canaccord Adams, Mr. Dunn was President and CEO and Head of Investment Banking at Adams Harkness & Hill, an independent, employee-owned investment banking and asset management firm. He joined Adams Harkness in 2002 from SunTrust Robinson Humphrey, where he headed the Boston office as Co-Head of the Mergers and Acquisitions Group. Prior to SunTrust Robinson Humphrey, Mr. Dunn spent 15 years at Tucker Anthony Incorporated as Senior Managing Director and Head of Equity Capital Markets.

Mr. Dunn currently serves on the boards of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NE); Massachusetts High Technology Council, Inc.; and PLC Medical Systems, where he chairs the audit committee. Previously, he served on the boards of Canaccord Adams, Inc., Adams Harkness Financial Group, SunTrust Robinson Humphrey and Tucker Anthony Incorporated.

Mr. Dunn received his M.B.A from the University Of Chicago Booth School Of Business and his A.B. in Government from Harvard College. He is a Registered Securities Representative (Series 7, 63, 79, 99) and a Series 24 Registered Securities Principal.

Greg Rush offers clients a unique combination of investment banking and operating management experience. Prior to Dunn Rush & Co., Mr. Rush served as Managing Director for the Capital Strategies Group of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney (previously Citi Capital Strategies), the firm’s middle market investment banking platform. Prior to establishing a Boston office for Capital Strategies, Mr. Rush was the Chief Operating Officer of Community Newspaper Company, a cluster of more than 100 newspapers and specialty publications in the Boston region that was owned by his family’s business, Herald Media, Inc. Community Newspaper Company was acquired by newly-formed GateHouse Media, Inc., where he continued to serve as Chief Operating Officer of GateHouse Media New England through a period of rapid growth that included numerous acquisitions and the Company’s Initial Public Offering. While at Community Newspaper Company and GateHouse, Mr. Rush was responsible for driving revenue, controlling costs, and identifying and implementing growth strategies such as acquisitions and new product launches.

Previously, Mr. Rush spent more than eight years in investment banking with Tucker Anthony Incorporated and SunTrust Robinson Humphrey, where he was responsible for the origination and execution of corporate finance assignments for both publicly traded and privately held middle-market companies. His experience includes advising on merger and acquisition transactions, public offerings, fairness opinions, and private placements of equity and debt.

Mr. Rush currently and has previously served on a number of non-profit and industry association boards. Mr. Rush received a B.A. in economics from Dartmouth College and is a Registered Securities Representative (Series 7, 63, 79, 99) and a Series 24 Registered Securities Principal.

Kathleen Regan

Kathy Regan has been investing in and advising healthcare companies, primarily in the medical device and biopharmaceutical sectors, for the last twenty five years. Ms. Regan is currently a Venture Partner at Radius Ventures, LLC, a venture capital firm focused on leading-edge health and life sciences companies. Prior to joining Radius, Ms. Regan was the Executive Vice President of Keystone Dental, Inc., a portfolio company of Warburg Pincus LLC, focused on the dental implant and oral maxillofacial markets, where she headed up strategy and business development. Between 2003 and 2008, Ms. Regan was a consultant to Warburg Pincus LLC, a leading global private equity firm, where she was involved in investing with the medical technology team. She was active as a Board member in several portfolio companies, including NuLens, Inc., Biosyn, Inc. and Solarant, Inc. and was involved in multiple transactions, including the $4.4 billion going private of Bausch & Lomb, Inc. Previously, Ms. Regan was a Managing Director and head of the Healthcare Investment Banking Group at SunTrust Robinson Humphrey, where she directed the group and managed more than $1 billion in merger and acquisition transactions for medical device, pharmaceutical, and pharmaceutical services companies. Prior to that, Ms. Regan spent 12 years at Tucker Anthony Incorporated, where she was a Managing Director and Head of the Healthcare Group.

Ms. Regan currently serves on the Boards of Aeris Therapeutics, a biomedical business pioneering a new therapy for emphysema, and EndoGastric Solutions, Inc., a leading company in transoral surgery for reflux disease. She is involved in several not for profit groups including Rockefeller University’s Women in Science program, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and the Robin Hood Foundation’s Health Care and Livelihood programs.
 
Ms. Regan holds a B.A from Princeton University in European History, Cum Laude and High Honors in European Cultural Studies.

Edward H. Pendergast

Edward H. Pendergast

Managing Director
Ed Pendergast is President of Pendergast & Company, a Corporate Financial Consulting firm. For the past 15 years he has advised a wide variety of companies on corporate financial strategies. Prior to that time, Mr. Pendergast was a founding partner in a regional accounting firm, National Director of Planning for a national accounting firm and CEO of yet another regional accounting firm. He is Chairman of PLC Systems, Inc, a medical device company. Mr. Pendergast serves and has served as a Director of many public and private companies in a wide variety of industries. For two companies, as Chairman, he became interim CEO to bridge the gap left by departing CEOs. He has earned valuation credentials from both the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (CVA) and the American Institute of CPAs (ABV). He also serves as an arbitrator and mediator.
 
Mr. Pendergast is a Past Vice Chair of the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce and Past President of the Massachusetts Society of CPAs, the Smaller Business Association of New England and the New England Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors. He is on the faculty for the National Association of Corporate Directors’ Board Advisory Services where he educates boards on good governance and performs board evaluations.
 
Mr. Pendergast is a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Owner President Management Program and holds an MS in Taxation and a BS in Accounting from Bentley University. He is a Certified Public Accountant, and is a Registered Securities Representative (Series 62, 63, 79).

Matthew W. Pierson

Matthew W. Pierson

Managing Director
Matt Pierson has been involved with numerous start-up and early stage high technology companies in New Hampshire over the past 25 years. In 1996, he co-founded DTC Communications with two partners, building the company to $30 million in revenue before selling it to Cobham plc, a UK-based defense company, in 2004. Mr. Pierson has been named Exporter of the Year (1993) and Entrepreneur of the Year (2003) in New Hampshire.
 
Mr. Pierson is an active angel investor, and sits on the board of numerous non-profit and for-profit organizations, including Nanocomp Technologies, Active Shock, JitterGram, the New Hampshire High Technology Council (past Chairman) and as a Trustee for the Semester at Sea program. He also serves on the advisory board of the Defense Technology Initiative and on the Hanscom AFB Science and Technology Board.
 

Mr. Pierson received his B.A. in Business Administration with majors in Marketing and Management from the University of Rhode Island, and is a Registered Securities Representative (Series 62, 63, 79).

Stephen Smith

Stephen Smith

Managing Director

Steve Smith is President of Ampersand, Inc., a software and internet consulting firm specializing in VoIP and internet communications technology. Founded in 1992, Ampersand provides a range of services including strategy development, business case analysis, software and system implementation, and rollout to production and operations. Ampersand has built numerous large scale Interactive Voice Response (IVR) systems and is the developer of Voiceglue, a leading open source IVR that works in conjunction with Asterisk. Ampersand also performs internet and web strategy work for traditional businesses seeking to leverage social networking and Web 2.0, and conducts IT audits as part of a due diligence process.

Steve served 7 years as CTO and Chief Scientist at Lavalife, a leader in the field of internet, mobile, and voice dating services. He was active during the firm’s acquisition in 2004 and participated in subsequent acquisition efforts of related firms in the social networking, mobile gaming, and interactive television areas. Steve is on the board of several non-profit and industry association groups, and is Chair of Technology for the National Association of Corporate Directors New England Chapter.

Mr. Smith graduated with Distinction from Cornell University’s College of Engineering with a B.S. in Computer Science, and is a Registered Securities Representative (Series 62, 63, 79).
